I’ll be at Sunfest tonight. Can’t resist the chance to see James Taylor and the thing is virtually in my back yard.

I agree. I recall the first one or two SunFests. They were free and easy. Lots of nice folks, but not mobs. No big hassle finding parking, etc. Somewhere along the line it went corporate and huge, but not necessarily better.

That’s the problem with SunFest: it’s the LARGEST.

Too much crowding, too many drunks, too much money.

I’d like to see some of the acts, but it’s not worth the hassle. SunFest became a victim of its own success. The venue is too small, but the city, obviously, doesn’t want to move it.

Couple of things:

1) You mention “West Palm Beach has a music / crafts / arts festival that blocks off Flagler Drive for about a week” – it’s not just a, it’s the largest in Florida. But, the crowds are insane and I wonder each year why I go back.

2) I want some of whatever that 40-year old guy is having. (the water/food/exercise – not his girl)
