Keep a key lime tree alive! A friend of mine just recently had to make a dish for her daughter to share at school to celebrate her family’s culture. It made me wonder what Malcolm will bring when that inevitable school assignment arrives. I’m thinking key lime pie!

That was a retirement party for my legally blind lab tech.

There were a number of employees I was more than happy to give a going-away party.

I had a photo coordinator once who asked me to write her a letter of reference. I didn’t lie when I wrote, “Nobody could replace her” and “You’ll be lucky to get her to work for you.”

Dad, I noticed that there were a lot of people at the house in what seemed to be a social function. What happened between then and whenever when that stopped being fun?

My current home came equipped with four lovely big trees. One big avacado had been planted directly under some phone and power lines, a big Norfolk pine was enveloping a power transformer, and the two huge shade trees along the street out front dwarfed the house.

I have good shutters, but if one of those shade trees fell, I’d have to buy a tent. So after we had two hurricanes hit us in one year, I paid lots of money to have them leveled. I miss the shade, but not the risk to my home or utilities.
